We were approached prior to the client purchasing this unloved and unmodernized house on a fantastic plot. From the outset we had a vision for transforming it into a modern light filled family friendly home and we encouraged the clients to purchase it.
The façade features a striking combination of modern and traditional elements. The central section of the house stands out with its tall, triangular gable and floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating a sense of openness and connecting the interior to the surrounding natural environment. Vertical cladding in a neutral tone enhances the contemporary feel, while the base of the house retains its original brickwork, providing warmth and grounding the structure. Features include a secret door to the study as well as hidden doors between the dining and the living room.
The builders did an amazing job by retaining the original wisteria tree that is on the facade on the left of the entrance. Who says tired old homes cant be given a new lease of life.
