A full renovation and extension to a detached period property. The existing plan exhibited cellular rooms to the back and so our proposals sought to open these up and creates a new social room including the kitchen.
Clever use of the site levels allowed the rear rooms to have ceilings at around 3m which coupled with roof lights and large sliding doors creates a grand space with unobstructed connection to the garden. The entrance hall as part of the original structure was quite narrow and so we proposed a new feature open tread stair, featuring brass balustrade rods, to allow for views through to the rear to give the illusion of space in the hallway. The upper floor was reconfigured to form a better layout including a new guest suite and 2 children’s bedrooms served by a Jack and Jill bathroom.
Our favourite feature is the fully glazed oriole window framing views into the mature garden.
This project was undertaken in conjunction with Cameron Broome Interiors. This is one of 2 projects undertaken on the road.
