An elevated site which previously had an unmodernized house has been replaced by a large 3 storey house built around a central feature hallway. The house uses traditional materials of brick and stone with a central stone porch entrance leading to a 3 storey hallway atrium.
The back of the house we have introduced a large social kitchen opening up to the garden with formal accommodation to the front. Upstairs we have created a large master suite with a central glazed gable with vaulted ceilings. The house has further family accommodation as well as a family room and home theatre on the top floor.
Our clients were keen to ensure the layout was simple with plenty of natural light, and use of strong traditional materials. We have offered a blend of contemporary features such as extensive glazed facades with use of stone surrounds and columns to add a more classical aesthetic. The result is an understated elegance to the house which reveals itself once you enter the house and opens out to the back.
