The property is a locally listed blue plaque period property in the greenbelt which once belonged to a famous artist; Arthur James Stark from 1886 - 1902. Famous for his landscape paintings, his studio with its wonderful height and natural light is now the heat of the home as a wonderful large family kitchen and dining room.
The house over the years has been modified and fragmented and we completely rationalized it and added in a 2 storey period extension to the rear as well as a contemporary styled single storey extension replacing the poorly constructed conservatory opening up to a newly created extensive outdoor living area complete with outdoor kitchen, a seating and dining zone and a new curved sunken firepit. Further up the garden is a new outdoor swimming pool and outbuilding.
Internally we replaced 2 dark and dated staircases by removing all of the panelling to the original staircase revealing the ornate woodwork to the balustrades. The entrance hall recieved new checkerboard tiling and at the back we introduced a new study and large family utility and boot room. Upstairs we completely reconfigured the bedrooms with a new master suite to the rear extension and remodelled bedrooms elsewhere.
The end result is a complete transformation which captures the best of the homes past with modern features and touches.
