The new dwelling replaces a tired 1970’s detached property within a large plot on a private road. The house retains a classical composition to the front using stone cladding and crittal style glazing but with a more contemporary feel to the rear, with the use of large two storey glazing elements with render finished walls.
To make the most of the setting the house is deliberately asymmetric at the rear to create site lines cross the extensive outdoor living and garden space. This features semi covered dining and outdoor kitchen as well as a hot tub and lounge area. The frontage receives much of the light throughout the day and so the house is set back in the plot creating quality front gardens. French doors and Juliette balconies were introduced to allow the façade to open onto these spaces.
