New Autumn Project Commissions

November 2020

Autumn is always a busy time of the year when we are appointed on a number of new projects. With the summer now over, families have had a chance to enjoy their home but many are eager to press the button on their home improvement project.

Concept Eight continues to push the boundaries on what a small friendly studio can produce, and we continue to increase our profile with local families eager to build something outside of the ordinary. We are delighted to have been appointed on some very exciting new commissions.

Here we have hi-lighted a select few of these commissions which we are eager to get our creative ideas going on. Over the coming months we will showcase how these are progressing on our Instagram feed.

Upstream House is a new build contemporary home on the banks of the river Thames. We were appointed on this project after our client cycled past a completed riverside house that we did, and wanted us to take the project on which was in stalemate with his previous team. In the time we had designed and built this house his site had sat empty with a design barely progressed, so he was keen to get some momentum back into his plot. A completely new scheme is now being created which we have no doubt will be a future showcase project for us.

Orchard Road is a new build mansion in the greenbelt. It will be a 2 storey house with a large outdoor entertainment space complete with a swimming pool and a separate detached leisure building with bar and lounge, outdoor kitchen, gym and spa rooms. This large semi rural plot sits on an elevated site with commanding views onto North London. Our clients were keen on a design led approach which also focussed on exemplar communication tools to ensure that the design for their forever home was well considered and communicated to them.

Woodlands Way is an extensive remodel and extension of a period house to be converted into a contemporary family home. The project is for a young family relocating to the area from London and they were keen to fast track the project so it can commence on site ASAP. With a very ambitious planning application granted, and swift technical pack, C8 have assisted the client to source the build team and works have now started on site, some 4 and a half months from commencing on the project.

Ireton Road is a detached house on a large corner plot in a private estate. Our clients are keen to design a for ever family home and have commissioned us to extend it into a large family home. They will undertake the project in 2 phases with a second phase including an outdoor pool and entertainment space.

Ashley Park Road is an unmodernised house on a fabulous plot in a private estate. This Westerly plot overlooks a local cricket green and with a fan as a client, we have designed a house that makes the most of the views out. The scheme will be a very contemporary home which makes the most of its location.

Portmore Park Road is a large period house which our clients have lived in for some time with rooms redecorated over the years. This riverside plot is now ready for an update with a extensive landscaping plan complete with new outdoor pool and stepped terraces down to the river, we will be designing a new side and front extension with internal reconfiguration which really creates a large social kitchen and entertainment rooms for the family which celebrates the tall ceilings and period features of the original house.

The Gables is a 1980's detached house which our clients have lived in for some time, with their adult children now moved out they wish to use the opportunity to modernise it into something that makes the most of the plot and enlarges the house and better engages with the garden.

Foley Towers is a locally listed property with its iconic twin towers. Our clients are keen to extend the property in a sensitive manner. The new additions will be carefully inserted into the building to complement the existing architecture.
